Lucas completed the Young Professionals Program
With the Young Professionals Program, Quooker aims to boost the development of young, ambitious people within the company. Lucas is one of the employees who completed the program and made significant progress.
“The Young Professionals Program is an eight-month trajectory in which you explore and analyze your own leadership, with the goal of growing within the company,” says R&D Engineer Lucas, who joined us in 2019 as a graduation intern. “You follow the program with a group of ten colleagues who are also early in their careers and ambitious. You take part in different tracks, where you analyze yourself, share your challenges at work, and are given tools to apply in your daily work. It’s incredibly educational. You don’t just learn from your own experiences, but also from those of your colleagues."
Thinking big Lucas notices that, partly thanks to the program, he is making important progress. “One of my personal challenges, for example, is dealing with the rapid growth the company is going through,” he explains. “Whether you’re young or experienced, you quickly get a lot of responsibility—and that can be exciting. The Young Professionals Program has given me tools to handle that responsibility. What I’ve learned there helps me every day to get more out of myself and to continue growing in a positive way. I’m very grateful that Quooker invests in my development like this. It motivates me to keep thinking big.”
A distinctive company When Lucas joined Quooker in 2019 as a graduation intern, he was surprised. “I had no idea that Quooker does everything in-house—practice and theory are completely intertwined here. I really liked that.” Quooker, in turn, was impressed by Lucas’s drive: after his internship, during which he worked on the development of a new tank, he was asked to stay. He has now been part of our rapidly growing R&D team for four years. Two years ago, Lucas took part in a personal leadership course at the invitation of the HR department. His participation in the Young Professionals Program followed from that.
Lucas: “Quooker is growing. Processes are becoming more and more professionalized. At the same time, the company’s distinctive and entrepreneurial character has never disappeared. That’s what makes product development at Quooker so unique. You largely control your own development here. You’re not just a number—people really look at you as an individual. If you have ambitions, you’ll be supported in achieving them.”
