An in-house design studio, what company has that?
Quite unique: at Quooker, we have our own design studio. Here, a team of creative makers creates all our communication and promotional materials. For Eelko, creative designer in the studio, no day is the same.

If you ask Eelko what the studio designs, he has both a short and a long answer. The short one is: “Everything that carries a Quooker logo.” For the long answer, you might want to sit down. “Brochures, flyers, leaflets, the website, banners, advertisements, video content, trade show stands, shop-in-shop materials, furniture, technical documents like manuals, packaging, flags, promotional items for our dealers such as lanyards and rulers. But also all internal communication materials, like the vitality calendar and decorations for staff parties…” Eelko pauses for a moment. “I could go on, but I think you get the picture. It is quite special that Quooker keeps all of this in-house. Most companies outsource it to agencies. But we simply like to do everything ourselves.”
A good feeling Eelko comes from a creative background. He studied at the Graphic Lyceum and worked for twenty-five years at various advertising agencies before joining Quooker a year and a half ago. “I was looking for a job with more variety. When I walked into Quooker, I immediately thought this seemed like a great place. That was just my feeling. And it turned out to be true. The atmosphere is good, the work is very diverse, and if you are open to it, you get plenty of opportunities.” The studio team currently consists of an art director, a creative designer (Eelko), two graphic designers, two DTP specialists, an AV specialist, a manager, and usually two interns.
Dynamics Eelko found the variety he was looking for. “One moment I am discussing a logo adjustment with colleagues, the next I am working on visuals for a trade show. The following day I am contributing to the new website launching in November, and shortly after I am selecting coffee cups for new point-of-sale materials. Then it becomes: which cup feels most ‘Quooker’? Meanwhile, around sixty people in the Research and Development department are continuously improving our products and coming up with new ideas, which in turn create new assignments for us. It never stands still. Having interns in the studio adds even more energy. For them, Quooker is also a great place. You really get to work on fun projects here.”
