Before Rahied Asruf started working at Quooker, he spent a long time searching. “I began several studies and worked in various industries and sectors, but nowhere did I truly find my place.” Through an employment agency, he ended up at Quooker for an interview in 2019. “It may sound strange, but during that very first interview, I felt something. On my first working day, that feeling was confirmed—a sense of appreciation and involvement. As if I was finally being seen.”

During the introduction session, Rahied watched a video about Quooker’s history. “When I heard the story of Quooker founder Henri Peteri, who quit his job to fully dedicate himself to his invention, I was deeply impressed. I thought: this man really made something of his life. It inspired me enormously. Henri Peteri is no longer with us, but I want to give one hundred percent for his invention.”

Cake for home As a technical assembly worker, Rahied was involved in building, testing, cleaning, and packaging Quooker products. He enjoyed the work, as well as the team he became part of. What he liked even more was that he was increasingly involved in decision-making. “Apparently, my managers valued my input—they saw something in me. I will never forget the day in 2021 when I received a permanent contract. They also told me I was being promoted to senior. With a huge smile, I went back to the shop floor. After work, I immediately stopped by the store to buy cake for my family.”

Enrichment In his new role as a senior technical assembly worker, Rahied performed so well that he soon took another step in his career. Since 2022, he has been a coordinator for both the Front production line and the Nordic production line. “Now I’m the one who leads and motivates the team. I’m very proud of what I do and that I’ve managed to get here. Above all, I’m grateful for the opportunities I’ve been given at Quooker to realize my ambitions. Work no longer feels like something I have to do that causes stress, but something that brings satisfaction and enriches my life.”
