Our new QDC has opened: a workplace built for the future
Since May 2026, our logistics colleagues have been working from the brand-new Quooker Distribution Center (QDC) in Ridderkerk. With this new location, we are taking an important step in Quooker’s continued international growth while creating a working environment where people, collaboration and development are central.
The QDC is the first phase of a larger future plan in which logistics, production, offices and showroom will ultimately come together at one location. In this way, we continue to invest in the region where Quooker has been rooted for many years, while creating space for new colleagues and further international growth. With a total floor area of approximately 20,000 m², the new distribution center offers plenty of room for further development. Seventy logistics colleagues moved from the Eemhaven in Rotterdam to their new workplace at the Nieuw Reijerwaard business park.
“We have been growing by an average of around 10% in the number of employees for years and expect this growth to continue in the coming years,” says Isabel Salomons, Chief People Officer (CPO) at Quooker. “The location at Nieuw Reijerwaard, with a site covering 9 hectares, was deliberately chosen with the long term in mind. It allows us to attract more people from the region and offer them a place where they can work, develop and grow.”
Attention to sustainability and the surrounding area The development of the distribution center also carefully considered its surroundings. Thanks to a smart logistics setup and the combination of activities at one location, transport movements are reduced. In addition, the integration of logistics and production results in lower transport intensity than many other distribution centers in the area. The location is also easily accessible, partly due to the nearby bus stop and plans to further improve the connection with Barendrecht station, for example through cycling facilities. Several sustainability measures have also been implemented, including energy-efficient solutions, rainwater collection and initiatives to stimulate biodiversity.
A pleasant workplace at the heart of the design
During the development of the QDC, attention was paid not only to functionality, but also to the working environment itself. The building was designed as an open and pleasant workplace, with plenty of daylight and attention to greenery. In doing so, we continue to build on the vision of the ‘friendly factory’: an environment where people feel connected and understand what they are working towards together. In this way, we aim not only to provide our current colleagues with a pleasant place to work, but also to create an environment where future colleagues feel welcome!
