Our new training facility: the Quooker Academy
Recently, Quooker introduced a dedicated training facility: the Quooker Academy. Here, we teach our dealers, service partners and new employees everything they need to know about the installation and operation of our products.
The new training space has the feel of a classic classroom. Wooden benches with traditional wooden work chairs are arranged in a U-shape around a central screen. Display cabinets showcase tap components almost like jewellery. There is also a workbench with eight Quooker taps that can be fully dismantled. Along the walls are several kitchen cabinets fitted with sinks and Quooker taps. Open one of the cabinet doors and you will find a Quooker tank inside.
“This is where we let plumbers and installers practise installing a Quooker themselves,” says Jonathan Reinoso, who provides the service training together with his colleague Steven van den Hoogen. “There’s actual water pressure connected, so if they make a mistake, they’ll get wet.”
Visiting Ridderkerk Quooker started giving training sessions about the operation of the boiling-water tap back in 2015. “At first, we visited kitchen dealers ourselves,” Jonathan explains. “We brought along a banner or a PowerPoint presentation and explained how everything worked.” “But after a while, we started inviting dealers and service partners to Ridderkerk. We gave them tours of the company and showed them the inside of a Quooker system.” The response was extremely positive. “They got to know both the product and our company much better. And we always heard the same reactions: wow, I didn’t realise Quooker was this big. And: it feels like one big family.”
Academy “Training installers and plumbers turned out to be a win-win situation,” says Steven. “They become more confident in their work, while our service department receives far fewer phone calls because fewer installation mistakes are made.” “With Quooker continuing to grow and professionalise, the desire arose for a dedicated training facility designed specifically for this purpose,” Jonathan explains. “Together with Quooker’s design studio, this resulted in a complete spatial design.” In April 2025, the Quooker Academy was officially completed. Since then, training sessions have taken place almost daily.
“A standard training includes a company tour, theory and company history, followed by a practical session,” Steven explains. “During the practical training, participants look inside the tap and tank and practise installations themselves. We only send an installer to a customer once the installation can be completed flawlessly. That way, we know we are delivering the level of service we aim for at Quooker.”
