“The fact that all machines at Quooker are developed in-house has many advantages,” says Ezra, a mechatronics engineer in the Engineering & Automation team. “It’s very educational to be able to test what you’ve programmed live and to keep monitoring the machine. If there’s a complex malfunction, there’s always someone in-house who knows everything about the machine."
Designing, building, and maintaining, that’s how we keep our machines running at Quooker
At Quooker, we design, build, and maintain all our machines ourselves. This makes the work of our mechatronics engineers and the Maintenance team especially interesting. Just ask Ezra...

“At Quooker, no two days are the same.”
A balance between thinking and doing Ezra joined Quooker through a graduation internship. He enjoyed the work—and the atmosphere in the department—so much that he stayed. “One moment you’re at your desk working on software, the next you’re in the factory at a machine, installing brackets or adjusting sensors. That combination of working with your mind and your hands makes the job really enjoyable. We have a great, young team. We collaborate well and also do fun things together after work—from playing padel to going on a snowboarding weekend with colleagues.”
A new challenge every day The Engineering & Automation team, where Ezra works, collaborates closely with Maintenance. For them as well, it’s beneficial that Quooker builds its own machines. “There’s a certain level of standardization in the machines, which makes maintenance easier. For example, the control cabinets are built in the same way for every machine, and the software follows a consistent system. That makes the work for Maintenance much easier—yet no day is ever the same at Quooker.”
Collaboration The Maintenance department focuses on both preventive and corrective maintenance of Quooker’s machines. “If a machine stops for any reason, Maintenance gets involved. If there’s a bug or a programming error, my department is called. We’re working more and more closely together, which I personally really enjoy.”
Proud of the company “By now, Quooker has a machine park that is quite impressive to outsiders,” says Ezra. “I was reminded of that when I recently brought my family to work during the Family Fun Fair. I suddenly saw the company through their eyes. It made me feel proud to be part of it.”
