“When I applied to Quooker in 2020, I was looking for a workplace where I could develop,” Tisha Civilis explains. “I had heard that Quooker is a real family business, where you are seen and given opportunities to grow. That really appealed to me.” She was hired as a logistics employee. She worked in Ridderkerk for a while, until the logistics center (also known as the HUB) moved to Rotterdam. There, she was responsible for shipping packages to customers. “I also found it very special that I was one of the first female logistics employees at Quooker.”

Collaborating with colleagues “Every package we send or receive as a return is registered using an application developed by our IT department. Whenever there was an issue, I would consult with my IT colleague Ferry Engels from the HUB. We had good contact. When his department needed a key user—someone who contributes ideas and advice based on hands-on experience with the application—he recommended me. I thought it would be a great challenge.”

A multicultural company That’s how, in 2022, Tisha moved from the HUB to Quooker’s IT department. “I’m extremely happy with my new role. It’s very diverse, I meet lots of new people, and I learn something new every day. From day one, my new IT colleagues were there for me—everyone was eager to help. I never expected to get such an opportunity so quickly. At previous companies, they promised a lot, but it rarely materialized. At Quooker, they say you can grow—and it really happens. I also appreciate how multicultural the company is. All of this makes me feel at home and valued.”
