Job description

  • With your fresh perspective, you will explore new technologies that will prepare our Quooker for the future.

  • You enjoy applying new technologies to our products together with our expert team and available equipment.

With your background as an Electrical Engineering student (or any other related electronics bachelor, like Computer Science and Engineering), you will join the Electronics Product Development team (EPD). We have various assignments available that are not limited to hardware and firmware (embedded software) development, but software development as well.

Our assignments generally focus on either (or a combination of) sensors, actuators, measurement & control technology, or communication protocols. During the internship we will always take the requirements of the university into account when creating the final assignment. Together with you we will explore where your interests lie and how they align with our research directions. You will be guided by experienced colleagues working in the same field as your education.

Quooker has equipment with extensive prototyping and testing capabilities such as soldering tools and EMC measurement instruments. We also have a wide range of tools to assist you during software (firmware) development such as logic analyzers and professional debuggers. The wonderful young, dynamic, energetic, funny, cool, sporty, muscular, dynamic and dynamic EPD team is ready to support you during your internship!

What can you expect from us?

  • €600 gross per month for a full-time internship.

  • A proper laptop to support the necessary development tools.

  • A wonderful workplace in Ridderkerk.

  • One day of remote work per week is possible.

  • A canteen where you can enjoy fresh sandwiches and salads daily for a small price. For vitamins, you can grab fresh, free fruit every day!

  • A Vitality Calendar: Multiple after-work activities per week that you can participate in for free. For example, yoga, boot camp, padel, or even a Bob Ross painting workshop.

  • A focus on your personal development.

  • A challenging and international learning environment where your independence and responsibility are stimulated.

About your team

With this internship, you will join the Electronics Product Development (EPD) team. EPD is a team within the R&D department and is mainly involved in developing the beating heart of all Quooker products. From start to finish, they design the hardware and software to make the Quooker products function as they are known to our users. At the same time, they are also responsible for realizing this in a safe and responsible manner (for example certifications and inspections). EPD consists of around 15 colleagues with backgrounds in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and Engineering.

Job requirements

  • You are an HBO or WO student in the field of Electrical Engineering, Technical Informatics, or a similar program.

  • You are independent in carrying out assignments and taking initiative.

  • You have a technical hands-on mentality.

  • Experience with Altium is a plus.
